So I've been considering taking my career in a new direction or at least getting a new job. Something a bit more lucrative, perhaps.
I've never obtained a job through networking. Recently, I happened to be in the "right place at the right time" and had the opportunity to demonstrate an instrument as a favor to the manufacturer. I prepared a bit of a demo / talk and met with both the manufacturer and potential buyer. They ended up buying the instrument and ever since then, the sales guy working for the instrument company has given us a few supplies as thanks and has complimented me a lot on my presentation and knowledge, even going as far as to say the buyer was impressed with me. Now one of his colleagues wants me to help them out with another potential buyer.
Getting free stuff for my company is alright and all but I'm kinda wondering if it'd be appropriate to mention that I'd be interested in employment opportunities that may become available and try to see if they could help me out there. Gotta do it in a way that isn't awkward though >.>
