HK is a major financial hub, so there are probably a lot of large US companies who have an interrest in keeping it as it is. Ecuador is not that important from a cynical business perspective.
Also, "trouble in South America" isn't really news worthy. Business as usual, much like poor people in Africa. HK's image is that of a first world country, the protesters are good at raising awareness, and they are opposing what is probably the US biggest competitor. --- --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
