action52 10/16/19 4:46:07 AM #2:	How is any of that deep? Its treatment of mental illness is very shallow. Arthur has a bunch of random mental illness symptoms but nothing specific. He just has a bunch of random kinds of crazy mixed up in him so that makes him go super crazy and kill everybody, I guess. But he looks totally cool and badass as he does it. Oh but really it's because he was let down by SOCIETY. It's all the system, man. Because, like, there is totally a class system and the lower class feels oppressed by the upper class. No specifics about how, really, but as soon as ~~the Joker does some shit on TV all these other Jokers are ready to go nuts and start killing people because, you know, reasons.~~ Oh but maybe it's all in his head man! Maybe this is all imagined! The movie won't really give you enough to go either way on it. It just lazily suggests at it, kind of, but doesn't commit to anything. And if it were, you'd think they would have had some Fight Club style reveal where he flashes back everything and you see it's not real, like with ~~that one woman in his apartment building~~. But I guess you could technically interpret it that way if you want, man!
