$1 billion tax free but any money made afterward is taxed

The magical wallet of exact change: this wallet always has the exact change needed in it. You want a new computer, exact change; new house, exact change; and so on

So which would you take?

And here we have the one question that breaks the wallet... it's lost and that person now has the Wallet, same if you lose it.

Does the wallet accomodate for extra money I want to give away? For example if some one asks me for $500 and I say yes, will it show up in the wallet? Or if I want to leave a $20 tip at a restaurant, will that be in there? Or only what my bill comes to?

This, and I'd hate to try to buy a house-- or whatever-- with cash that has to be counted out.

Someone born today, and arbitrarily gifted $1 billion, could spend an average of $1 million a month and will run out of human lifespan before running out of money.

How exactly does some remove a million dollars from a wallet that can be fit in a pocket.

I would imagine nobody in possession of said magical wallet wouldn't have it very long.

I feel like the wallet is a good way to either get arrested or dead, so the billion.

Although I may risk it just for the reaction of buying a house and reaching in to my wallet in front of a real estate agent to pull out what I assume would be a briefcase of cash.

Can I take money out of the wallet and put it in a bank? Most places wont allow you to use that much cash (eg buying a car or house) and will ask you to go to a bank to get a bank cheque or transfer drawn.

I would probably take the billion since I can use it on non physical spend.

Seriously this. You would have to go through an extreme amount of effort to spend all that money.

Nah not worth it then. that's only $550k per year so it'd take like 1800 years to hit $1 billion... or just a really long time before you can buy anything substantial.

$1 billion. It's an easy choice.

That amount of money is easily enough to live off of. Plus, I very rarely use cash.

the wallet.

Simply ask a baby or elderly dementia patient to sell you any item for 2 billion dollars. When they present it to you, complete the transaction, take the money, and now you have the money and nobody knows of the wallet

If I took the wallet, I'd probably downfall into some vice and lose it. At least with the 1 billion if I get into trouble doing something stupid, I'll still have my money to hire lawyers or pay people off and shit.
