Id imagine that it doesnt necessarily have to follow, although Id imagine the vast majority of shy people actually are introverts.

My gut says no. I would assume there are people who are shy solely because they are very self-conscious. If they learned to get over that, they would be very outgoing and extraverted.

And there are the people who don't really talk a lot, but like being out with people and just taking it all in. Even if not taling a lot doesn't necessarily mean they're shy.

As a general statement though? Probably reasonably accurate.
