pls 10/14/19 7:22:32 PM #1:	Instead of getting rid of the Holiday, it should be changed to something else but still considered a federal holiday where workers get paid time off. This is anecdotal, but at my current company and many of the companies I know of in my network, the move is to get rid of it as a federal holiday rather than to simply replace it. At my previous job we didn't have Columbus Day off but we did have a separate "Office Holiday" where the office was closed and people were encouraged to take time off. It was a Monday too, since Fridays are already laid back. Workers unite, make sure the backlash against Columbus Day doesn't turn into one less paid holiday. --- Do good.
