I thought it was kind of weird but understandable that CoM was a bad remake of the first game, but I was understanding because it was a GBA game.

But holy shit, they did the same thing again with Coded? Why?

Coded was originally a mobile game so it gets the same excuse. What you're watching is the 3DS remake of it.

But this video called "coded in a nutshell" says you actually have to play through each world three times. So they're really reusing KH1 five times in this series.

KH3 did a good job of filling in the blanks for most the the games between 2 and 3 but I definitely feel like I missed out on some stuff by not playing 3D.

Theyre dropping DLC for it soon right? I should probably check it out.

You go to each world like normal at first, and complete their own stories like in any other game. The islands, Traverse Town, etc. Each world has its own gimmick, like Traverse Town becomes a side-scroller by the end, and Olympus becomes turn-based like FF due to Cloud being there. But for the most part, they're just ordinary worlds.

Then after you complete Hollow Bastion, the Data-Riku that is acting as the Journal's avatar gets corrupted, so you have to go into him and re-explore all the worlds a second time. These visits are a lot briefer, and more like the End of the World example you used. Couldn't take more than 10 or so minutes per world.

As for Castle Oblivion, you don't go to those actual worlds a third time. It's more like the rooms manifest the characters from those worlds for you to talk to. So you're just running around the white rooms of Castle Oblivion fighting Heartless, but, for example, Cid and the duck triplets would be in there as well.
