The other day at the ATM I took out some one dollar bills, and they were brand new, untouched, sequential 2017(carranza/mnuchin) notes.

This has happened before but I usually turn them back into the ATM because my bank has a habit of giving out brand new one dollar bills with a black stripe of ink horizontally across the top corner.

These ones however did not contain this ink, so I figure since I have around 175 of them sitting in stack I was going to write a message on each one, in hopes of two things:

a) to send and ironic message about not writing on currency. I have some pieces that could be more valuable but somebody wrote on them with ink at one point.
b) to see how long it takes me to see one of my creations in the wild. 175 is a decent sample size I feel like, and they will be released locally.

I am going to write on each one: "Do not deface currency. It could have numismatic value"

We're gonna see where this goes. If anybody here happens to find one of these bills in the wild(2017 series, with that written on the top border on the front side) I will give them a prize. But on a national scale thats just unlikely. I may never see one again and theyre going to a bank ten minutes from my house.

An experiment? Cool.
