Yeah the Imeon side story was the weakest one, I thought. It's like, if Michel in his years of isolation met and basically fell in love with someone, that should have DEFINITELY came up. It feels like a non-canon anime movie, and the fact that this person JUST SO HAPPENS to basically have the same backstory is Michel is too much.

The second half of Requiem of Innocence, particularly Jacopo's segments are really good. I forget his name, but the old man character introduced there is probably my favorite of the new characters.

Coincidentally this is the only part of the fandisk I've actually read. I don't really think of it as canon but I did definitely enjoy reading it.

Both him and Gratien are vaguely alluded to in the main story, though.

I have the artbook. It's phenomenal. I've looked through it around 5 times (and showed it to family/friends who thought it was really cool), which is 4 more times than I've looked at other artbooks I've gotten after acquiring them.

I cannot stress enough how much people not checking out the additional content are doing themselves a disservice.

I realize not wanting to taint the main scenario with extras is an understandable thought, and a lot of this stuff on the surface seems like it's unnesecary (those anime ass character portraits in the voice config about gave me a heart attack), but this has been INCREDIBLY fulfilling. The only thing I could have done without at all is the Imeon story. That felt like a bump in the road and just slowed down the progression and momentum a ton.

The amount of conflicted feelings I have for Jacopo, the amount of draw I have towards Morgana herself, and the incomparable investment I have in that relationship are almost entirely due to these extras.

Looked it up, and apparent the Backstage was removed from this version :/

Guess I'll try and find those online....

I'm pretty sure Fata Morgana might be the best story I have ever read, and Michel is one of my favorite protagonists ever.

It actually bugs me that Visual Novels, as a genre, have peaked. Fata Morgana isn't perfect but I legitimately can't imagine the medium churning out a better story than it.

Been going to through to see which "sad/overly happy" song give me this gut visceral reaction. So far basically all of them other than Cicio, which may just be due to overexposure and the number of times it was coincidentally playing when I got up to make dinner or something.

Giselle is a strong, but a Requiem for Innocence is king. Any emotional Morgana song tied into the relationship with Jacopo and ESPECIALLY the wheat field dream absolutely ruins me.

This is definitely one of those cases where it may be a genre killer for me. I have the Psycho Pass VN and Steins;Gate downloaded on PSN....who knows when I'll bring myself to touch those. Hell, I LOVE S;G from the show, but this isn't even remotely the same ballpark.

Pretty much the only VNs I wanna play right now are....the other VNs that use the Fata Morgana characters that aren't translated.

I really like Cicio. It's not attached to any big scenes but it's just a really pleasant song.
