Take away easy view of the fucking URL of the website someone is going to click on. How could that possibly go wrong?!
Apparently my account was selected to be a guinea pig for this shit, and there's no way out of it other than to stay logged out. Until they inevitably force it on all of us anyway.
I'm not on a mobile device, stop fucking giving me web site designs catered to mobile devices!

Anyone else got volunteered for this?

(I also noticed around the same time my youtube layout went to the new format where comments auto load as you scroll down. For the longest time I was able to use the older version where you click to see more, but it seems that's just plain gone now)

Knowing what you are clicking on is so old-school thinking.
Just trust them.

I generally hate change, but is it that hard to just hover over the link and take a look at the URL preview that usually appears near the bottom left of the browser?

Only some people have it.

Google picks people to be guinea pigs w/o their knowledge or consent. i sent a feedback complaining about it, but I've done that for google and youtube like 5 occasions now and it's never helped.

I forget how I did it, but with Chrome anyway, there's a way to enable the URL to display at the bottom of the browser whenever you hover over a link.

I use Firefox, but thanks for the tip anyway.

Using Chrome to solve my google search display issue would be like dealing with an annoying itch by setting myself on fire.

Ok, WTF?!

Now even when I'm in private mode on Firefox, I get the fucking favicond search result layout

But I just tested on IE Private mode and it's the good search results.

I use Firefox both private and regular versions daily, almost never touch IE.
This leads me to believe the evil mother fuckers actually connected my search activity on the private Firefox browser w/ my account and fucked that up to hell, too.
