if im walking somewhere im always watching my back/paying attention to others and am generally pretty paranoid about cars driving by

Some do because some areas are just that bad. Look at some parts of Chicago, IL with lots of gang activity. Evil people will shoot and kill for no good reason at all sometimes. Hell, you aren't even safe indoors, as stray bullets have struck and killed people in their homes before. And there are freak "accidents" of cops going to the "wrong address", usually at night, sometimes even breaking and entering via a no knock raid, and killing startled people just minding their own business. So yeah it's a problem, especially in certain parts of the country.

The only way I feel I can get back at these sick fucks is not to have any kids so they won't have to endure the promised pain that the future hellscape once known as our planet will provide.
