Thought that I'd do something different and remind us of games that came out last year that at least seem promising.

If you haven't played any of these, just vote for the one that you want to play the most.

Suggestions for other option:

Warriors Orochi 4
Soulcalibur VI
My Hero One's Justice
Disgaea 1 Complete
Forza Horizon 4

Dream Daddy: Dadrector's Cut
Forza Horizon 4

RDR2. I just wish Rockstar would give us some single-player DLC, but thats not where the money is.

RDR2

This, and it's not even close.

I ended up playing a shit ton of AC Odyssey, though. That game has a lot of content.

Yeah I spent one-hundred hours on Odyssey and stopped in Chapter Two in RDR2. Im ready to be done with Rockstar because of their inability to support the SP side of their games.

RDR2 was like my most anticipated game of the decade, so yeah, that was a gimme. I really enjoyed Assasins Creed: Odyssey but I still haven't picked it back up since RDR2 hit. I should probably finish that.

As someone who spent 175+ hours with Odyssey and the DLC, enjoying it for the most part, RDR 2 > Odyssey.

No idea how much I played RDR 2 because there's no hour counter as far as I could tell, but I played a ton of RDR 2. Game is phenomenal.

Odyssey is fun, but RDR 2 is on a higher level of fantastic. Not sure where you get the notion that Rockstar doesn't support their singleplayer. They shipped a complete experience whereas Ubisoft shipped a game where you couldn't experience the full story without purchasing DLC add-ons...

I don't think you can give a legitimate critique of RDR2 if you only got to the second chapter.

Yeah, I almost quit myself, but then I lookd into what I thought were glitches. Turned out that they're the way the game is meant to be, and there's ways to work wit it. if glitches were your concern, maybe look into it yourself, because so far it's an amazing game.

lost Paradise was pretty fun, put quite a few hours into it and would probably grind out the platinum but the doctor mini game feels like it would be too frustrating to 100% all songs.

If RDR 2 was made by Ubisoft, the long ass epilogue would be DLC.

If RDR2 was made by Ubisoft, it wouldn't have all the unwarranted simulation mechanics that make the game more of a slog. But it would just replace them with about a dozen different collection quests and map-clearing mechanics, so it's a trade off either way, sadly.

It would still have an overly monetized multiplayer component, though.

Like the people missing from the camp if you fail and restart the saloon fight instead of reloading? Pretty sure thats just a glitch. And no. I just read about the story and what happens after chapter two so I didnt feel like ever leaving chapter two and that got boring.

I lost interest in the story SO HARD once I realized that they were going to force Arthur into contracting TB in one of the most hamfisted missions I've ever played in any RPG.

That kind of left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. And after a technical snafu that meant I was going to have to replay about an hour or so of gameplay, I kind of went off the game entirely and just went to play one of the other dozen games I have in my queue that I keep putting off.

I may get back to it one day, but right now I have almost no motivation to do so, and the longer I wait the less motivated I'm likely going to become. If the MP was on-par with earlier GTA:O MP (before it became full-on microtransaction grind) that might have tempted me in via that aspect of the game, but everything I see and hear of the MP makes me feel like I never want to do that, either.
