20% sounds about right if you dont count students as "having no job"

Probably a good 90%

It's fucked up when I have a day off from work for being sick or whatever and come on here and people are posting all day. Seriously?

I've noticed that as well and wonder how that works.

I'm sure a lot of people post from work.

With the volume of posting which goes on, even that would still surprise me that they have that much time whilst working (unless their jobs are that relaxing/cruisy which would lead me to wonder if they worry about job security)....

Honestly that's where probably 80% of my GameFAQs time comes from anymore. I don't visit this site pretty much at all once I leave work for the day.

How do you have time to post (and moderate) whilst working?

I can't even fathom what that must be like as even though I have a white collar job, I am always running between client meetings, internal team meetings, calls, etc... the closest thing I have to a chill moment is when I have to do eLearns and can multitask whilst the videos play. More often than not I don't get time to eat lunch or if I do, it's at my desk.

I cant post at all from work. But I know some of the accountants at my office literally just watch YouTube for 80-90% of the week. Theyll just have one busy day.

The question is whether CE is a representative sample of the broader GameFAQs population.

There are a lot of people with office jobs with a lot of downtime

Lucky for them. I don't know what I'd do if I had downtime at work and whether it'd drive me insane as I'm used to going 100 miles a minute (metaphorically).

I think most people who work on CE come in two flavours. Retail/other constantly busy but lower skilled jobs and skilled office jobs which have crazy downtime for some reason
Then you have a few specialists like cops, doctors, etc.

I'd probably be wondering when I'm going to get laid off or fired.

There's been some guys on here who bragged about doing 1-2 hours of work a day then down the road came on here and told us they had been fired

Most people start off trying to do that.
I do maybe 30 minutes of work.
But I constantly worked at improving and automating it from about 6-7 hours

I feel like being on the flipside with the hours/output in my role and getting paid below market rates for what I do, at least the risk of getting made redundant/fired is somewhat reduced... whereas friends of mine who left for greener pastures and huge payrises above what they were really worth/market price, were also the first to be let go when times got tough.

When I was doing my co-op thing for university back in 2013 I worked at a place like this - high salaries and not much work and easy jobs (crown corporation). It was actually pretty depressing. A lot of your job was justifying why you had a job and deserved your salary combined with a lot of office politics. The more you moved up the ranks the more you dealt with this. It's a very stressful life doing this. You're always looking over your shoulder.
