I'm...not getting this job, am I?

Honestly, I thought it might come up, but it's nearby and the pay is solid, plus I have solid experience in editing, so I thought it might be worth a try. Definitely nope'd out there, though. Not even going to try to go through with that.

A year ago I was looking for design jobs and found a couple churches needing help in those areas. Problem was they had uncomfortable series of personal questions besides work experience and although it would be easy to straight up lie and fool them, you'd have to be a piece of shit to sink that low just for a paycheck.

Like conning a faceless soulless corporation is one thing wgaf, but a church even if you don't agree with their values, ehhhhh no way.

I'd have no problem with that personally. My problem would be debasing myself by even pretending to adhere to their "values", no paycheck is worth that kind of pain.

Yeah, even aside from that one, the rest of the questions were asking if I've been baptized and how often I go to church, and...yeah, I'd have to lie quite a bit there. I just backed out of the application in the end.

I'm pretty sure that being gay would immediately disqualify me regardless.

And honestly, I vaguely expected it when I saw the offering, but it would have been a great fit for me otherwise. The pay was solid, it's close by, and it fits with my experience. Had it not been for those personal questions, it would have been a perfect fit for me.

Nah, text editing. I have a background in technical writing & editing via student documents, so I'd love a full time editing position. I've always enjoyed reading papers and correcting errors.

They don't have to know that you're gay. Come at them with some biblical verses. "The bible states that we should all love one another." And then give out specific verses. That'll impress them.
