I know blogfaqs sorry. It's 3 AM, I'm on nights, and the first real wave of sadness is hitting really hard right now. Don't even know how serious it is so I shouldn't be this way, but I guess I can't help it.
So he had his appendix out and there was a weird spot. Weird spot was biopsied. Weird spot is cancer. On Monday he has to have surgery again to remove part of intestine near where appendix was attached. Also possibly checking lymph nodes in area somehow, that part I'm bit confused on. Fuck. I'm not ready to lose my dad possibly. He's only 62. Oh speaking of that, he found out on his birthday. The doc that explained the situation to mom and dad seemed hopeful. Thinks it was caught pretty early. It's probably going to be fine. But waiting for the surgery and then waiting for more biopsy results is going to suck. And I can't be there for the surgery because I'm on nights and our local hospital surgical Dept is a joke. So he is having the surgery in Bismarck instead. 100 miles away. Not that far, but too far when you work 12 hour night shifts.
I could potentially see if my replacement coworker who comes on next Wednesday could cover a couple days early for me. Might ask her tomorrow.
