Not a person of lots of privilege (white, educated, works in law enforcement...).

Can you imagine if it was a black man from a poor background that had gone into the home of a pretty white girl and shot her dead on her couch? He'd already be strapped to the chair.

The sentence is a display of privilege and nepotism.

If a black man stumbled into the wrong apartment and shot the White female cop living there they would kill him on sight.

It is, but it is laughable to bring that up when it's people like her on the end of the punishment stick.

Brown babies get put in cages? "it's the law"
black dude gets shot by cops? 'Just follow directions, bro"

It was such a croc of bullshit, black guy kills dog gets 30 years, white lady kills black guy, gets 10 years, gets parole gets tears, hugs and maybe even a gofundme later on the goddamn judge even hugged her, what kind of shit is this?! It's like people forgot about her racist ass texts, her completely self serving demeanor and how the cops tried to slander her victim as a fucking drug dealer and her lawyers tried to get her trial moved to a white area where it she most likely would have walked away completely.

She should be have been executed, she killed someone for no reason, tried to save herself and the family just "We forgive you"? They must have really hated their son/brother to spit on his grave like this it was like watching him be killed twice.

Well as someone who has gone through parts of my life with extreme anger in my heart. I can tell you that it is exhausting and counter productive, and it does NOBODY any good. His brother was taken from his family in a tragic manner. He's not coming back. She was convicted for that crime and will serve the sentence a jury of her peers deemed reasonable.

He wants to be a messenger of peace and love, not hate. That's what he's thinking. The people who call him names for that are fucking pathetic hypocrites. They scream for equality and peace, but this young man is showing that a lot of the people that say that are full of shit, and they are actually just sad angry people. I think that's what a lot of the commotion has been about, the angry people are not being sided with and they don't like it one bit. Usually they blend in with the other angry people and have been exposed this time as fake ass punks.

This. Anger and hatred are very exhausting, stressful, and downright depressing things to hold on to.

Imagine if Botham Jean has busted into Amber Guyger's apartment and shot her eating ice cream.

He would have probably died anyway when her fellow police officers beat him to death. If he survived that far, his sentence would have definitely been more than 10 years with a chance to get off much earlier on good behavior.

Even a murder conviction is showing off police privilege. Cops should have less leeway than civilians imo
