I think this goes beyond regular confirmation bias. I mean, it's really a thing. BMW drivers are the worst drivers.

As soon as I see one I know they're going to speed, without fail. Not even just a little bit. I mean these fuckers are going to do 20 over the limit even through a town. They're going to try dusting the back of my car regardless of what speed I drive, and then perform some kind of Formula 1 overtake move as soon as there's at least 50 metres of free road in the opposite lane.

Forget indicators. Those are for other brands of vehicles.

And forget right of way. That is for slower, less expensive cars. It doesn't matter if you're still not swift enough to avoid inconveniencing others by pulling out in front of them. They will wait. You have more airbags anyway.

Is it a chicken/egg situation? Are people who are naturally predisposed to being rude and selfish just more likely to buy BMWs, or is there something about driving one of those cars that makes you incapable of human empathy and mindfulness?

Even the people that I know and like that own BMWs fit into this asshole driver category. It's some kind of incredibly unlikely 100% correlation.

Has there been any study into the brains of these people? Maybe a probe into the manufacturing process of the brand? I wish to know, so that I can soothe my rage a little.
