This is just speculation, to be clear, but it would make sense given that they've remade the first three gens already.

Diamond/Pearl were the last Pokemon games I played. I've got no real interest in Sword/Shield, but I might be down for this

If the remakes are based off of D/P rather than Platinum, which was an improvement in every way, then it's a no from me.

No, it wouldn't. The games are fine looking, and already playable on the 3DS - the games in the previous generation were not. I really don't think we're going to get gen 4 remakes for a very long while.
