Because the show is getting rebooted instead.
It appears like it's going to be a sequel. Whedon is involved but not directing or writing it. SMG is not going to be in it. Other news has been pretty mum. Personally, I think this is better. The buffyverse set the gold standard for character development over several seasons of a show. Because Charmed is popular because of its name rather than its content. Never has a person sat down a critically thought about the content of a Charmed episode and not concluded that its gutter trash that is only popular because witches doing magic things are cool and Alyssa Milano has a nice rack.

I loved charm growing up in the nineties. There was nothing else like it on television and it was fun enough, even if it never reached the heights of Buffy. I still have positive memories of that show, even though it never tried to be anything better than it was. Currently, I think Buffy has turned out to be way more popular than Charmed. Which one are you referring to, Charmed or Buffy? Cause nobody should talk about what happened to Buffy after the sixth season, I agree.
