I have three main gripes with Civ V:
1) The 'Steal Workers at start of game' exploit
2) Aircraft, perhaps the modern age in general. Gameplay slows to a crawl both literally and metaphorically around the time you start getting blimps and planes, not least because it takes forever to get them placed, sorted, and used, even if you turn off their obnoxious animation.
3) I never feel like I have reason to touch most of the culture trees, some are broadly very useful while others are very specific for the same price

Civ 6 is a lot better than 5 imo, but the AI is still dumb in the late game

Civ 6 is worth it in my opinion. It's similar to Civ 5 though it has a lot of key changes with the districts

I like the addition of districts.

But I wish they had more alternate civ leaders. I've been irked that Rome still only has Trajan at this point. Wish they'd add Julius or Augustus already.
