I probably should mention that both my wife and I are on salaries starting with $2's, and I'm on fully paid parental leave for 18 weeks in addition to the 3 months extra leave I got awarded recently for hitting 10 years. So I'm not exactly mooching. She was actually the stay at home parent initially since her company also offered 18 weeks and then we decided to switch over and use my benefits as well (since if you don't use it within first year of childbirth, you forfeit the entitlement). As for how difficult it is... it depends how much you want to care/follow routine. We're following sleep training programs to help ensure she sleeps through the night and will improve her development, but it means following a strict regime around exactly what time you feed, play, settle, etc... Keep in mind that when the baby goes to sleep for say 45 minutes (one cycle), you're probably still rocking them for the first 10-15 of that so that really only leaves you half an hour of free time to do things like clean/sterilise bottles, prepare next feeding, go to the toilet yourself, etc... I'm fortunate that the lunchtime naps are now 2 hours so I can usually use that time to eat something myself but there have been many days where I'm so tired I don't even get around to eating lunch myself and instead just snack on a museli bar or something. --- If you can understand this, I'm 2/cosC for you. <cite>gloBal enemy posted [p:927951969] in I'm th... It didn't for a while. But then at some point it suddenly switches from being nothing, to these huge runny mess which goes everywhere and really does smell. And now I understand why my mum gave me a box of 200 small scented nappy bags. 2. "sleeps like a baby" is also misleading because until you've done sleep training/they grow older, they don't sleep very well IMO.
