I guess I understand wanting privacy, but its not that big a deal. They can have all the info on me they want. I dont see the problem tbh

I don't want people knowing the weird stuff I'm into.

Though, Google probably already knows and I appreciate their discretion.

They're not looking at anyone that closely. You're just a line in spreadsheet of thousands or more. And only one guy is in charge of the spreadsheet and all he does is run the data through an algorithm and has no time to look up Bob smith or whoever and is eager to get the day over with so he can go home to watch tv like any other regular white collar worker.

I don't like the idea of greedy corporations continuously milking people of data and selling it or using it to send targeted ads and who knows what else. It seems like a sleazy and unnecessary practice.

Imagine if any politicians tried to make sure they weren't finding loopholes to avoid paying taxes, or wanted to look into allegations of fraud/corruption/etc... and then said person just happened to have info on their embarrassing search histories "leaked" by "anon"?
That's the kind of power they basically have, or will soon.

And yeah, for regular folks it seems like it won't personally affect you. Until they do decide to become morality police. Then shit gets really scary.

Just watched that and what in the actual fuck...

Some sociopathic shit there. They're telling everyone to monitor their coworkers and learn about their personality so that they can identify anything out of character and report to management. Basically, they want everyone to be a spy. Actually, that's perfectly in line with how all these tech companies operate. Censor anyone who speaks out against the establishment. They're trying to normalize that behavior
