Batman with time to plan is a meme based on a crappy justice league contingency plan he had cooked up to deal with every individual member if they suddenly went rogue.

The problem is it wouldn't really work as a lot of it was contingent on behavior that would not be exhibited had they "gone rogue" No amount of Kryptonite is going to stop Superman from lasering your face from low earth orbit. He was only subdued by the contingency plan because he was still approachable and friendly.

Case in point, it shows up again in Injustice and it flat out just doesn't work.

Some writers keep trying to play it up, though, so you end up with ever increasing ridiculous nonsense like Batman rigging Apokolips to explode unless Darkseid agrees to his terms as if he could realistically pull that off.

I find a lot of times Batman is just made smarter and more badass by writers by simply making everyone else around him dumber. People also like to bring up Tower of Babel as how Batman has a plan to defeat members of the Justice League even though some of those plans where really stupid or relied on dumb luck.

I mean... as long as they continue to insist that Batman show up on the front lines of JL threats and not just sitting at home writing checks to fund them, they're going to have to keep coming up with ridiculous ways Batman can contribute.

He did actually rig it up, the bluff was Darkseid challenging whether or not Batman would actually do it and basically kill himself and all his friends in the process.
