And here I hoped Nintendo wouldn't be dumb enough to not fix the issue on a system revision where the controllers can't be removed.

this pretty much cements my decision to get a New Switch instead. I dont want to mess with that with like Banjo said, unreplacable controllers

Honestly this is what people get for supporting shady business practices. Nintendo should have just reduced the price of the switch instead of wasting resources to create another model. Their plan wasn't to target people who couldn't afford a switch (because $100 isn't much of a difference tbh); they knew people who already owned a switch would also go out and buy a switch lite just to have both.

It's a great controller. It was costly, but it's worth it.

Did you not see the video? Lol

The camera keeps slightly moving without any input on the controller, which means that the right control stick isn't properly centered. Thus what we call drifting.

yea it means the controller acts like you are moving the stick even when you are not. so like you are playing breath of the wild. and you stop moving. and then link keeps stepping or turning or whatever

I had this happen to me on my first set of joycons. It was manageable at first, but a few days later Link would just start running to the right lol.

Ive had stick drift issues on all consoles this gen. Its why I'll never get a Switch Lite.

They need a way to manually recalibrate the joystick. That would fix all of these problems.

There is, but it doesn't help. It directly correlates to the graphite within the control stick wearing down, rather than the dead-zone re-adjusting.

Yep. It's an issue that came up, people found out it was a problem on a manufacturing level and needs a revision, Nintendo announces the Switch Lite, turns out they didn't actually fix how the Joycons were made.

Essentially. The Switch Pro Controller seems better made than the JoyCons. Much more comfortable too considering how tiny those things are.

They worked fine for me when I played MHTri Ultimate for the Wii U.

IIRC there was a quiet revision on the regular Switch (which actually has much better battery power than the Switch Lite, lmao) but nobody has reported stick drift on it yet.

I can say I have the revised switch, but I have yet to experience stick drift currently.

But from what I was told the Joy-cons are still the same.

Here's hoping they actually fixed it in some capacity, though I feel bad for the Lite users in this case. A new Switch with better battery life and (possibly) better Joy Con quality than the advertised revision? Hoo boy.

From my understanding Nintendo is using very fragile materials inside those things, my guess is they didn't think about hand strength.

Eh, all controllers get stick drift, it's just a matter of how easily/early it happens. If it happens after a few years most people are fine with it, not months.

The Switch itself is still made of Nintendium I think. A guy dropped it from a million miles up and it still played. The waterjet channel literally had to poke 2 clean holes into the system til it shorted out

The Joy-cons however...

Not a loss since that feature nobody really used since it fucked with people's eyes. The final 2DS Model is pretty much a improvement, and if possible you could modify it to play your games on the big screen (though I heard mixed results about that).

Or they just cheaped out and now they're too worried about how much money it would cost them to actually properly fix it to do anything.

I've always used 3D lol... It made so many games look so much better. For games like MH, it also made your depth perception much better than in 2D. I've actually seen people who kick ass at 3D and then get really confused at 2D.

The fucking with your eye shit only applied to people with previous conditions. For most people, it honestly shouldn't ever be a problem because stereoscopic 3D isn't like some insane technology that demands something different with your eyes. It's literally like looking into binoculars. Some people just aren't compatible because their eyes aren't aligned in a standard way
