I'm in Washington Utah, the place has to be within 3 hour drive (preferably closer) and like not shitty or closed. If you do, I'll go and post a video (or at least audio) of my performance publicly on CE.
I'm open to vegas, but if you look at something like this: https://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=Open+Mic+Comedy&find_loc=Las+Vegas%2C+NV It's actually misleading Pretty much all of these are just comedy shows. They don't have open mics at any halfway decent vegas comedy places (as far as I can tell). I could be wrong but I haven't seen any. The main resource I found was this: http://badslava.com/las-vegas-open-mics.php But there's nothing in there about which ones are good or bad. I drove to Just F***in Comedyat The Dive Bar And it was horrible, there were like 18 people who went up, but none of them watch the other performers. And of the 18 I'd say 2 actually tried (meaning it seemed like they had at least some sort of idea of what their material was going to be) Only me and one other person actually watched the "show". I really struggle to believe that Madison, Wisconsin (where I'm from) is such a better place to do comedy than Vegas. But from that experience it sure seems like it. (Even the bad open mics in madison, people tried and people watched) So I have that list to go on and nothing makes any entries stand out more than the others. I definitely don't want to go to an open mic that's music though. And so you can see it's kinda this headache to find "the right one" if one even exists and is on that list. And frankly I don't want to spend 5 hours hemming and hawing trying to pick the perfect one just to drive 6 hours round trip and find out I'm horribly wrong again. --- "joe is attractive and quite the brilliant poster" - Seiichi Omori https://imgur.com/TheGsZ9 ...
