Yeah. Unlike Pokemon games which always retain at least 80% of their original price (mini game ones like trozei aside), Zelda handheld games almost always get a second wave of physical releases, one of those "best seller" or whatever titles. Heck, I could pick up MM for the 3ds new at GameStop for $20, they'd still be selling Pokemon xy for at least $35 new despite being out longer.

I bought the second copy for a family member because they like Zelda games

I don't flip games, it's almost impossible to predict what games will shoot up in value and it's not lucrative at all. Not worth the time cost either.
