If you somehow had a job where you basically created your own schedule, and you show up to work or you do your work during any of the 168 hours of the week that you choose. You can work anywhere from 0 hours up to 100 hours per 7-day period. Whatever you choose, you will be paid in proportion to the number of hours you work. So if you're in desperate need of money, you could sacrifice your personal life and work 100 hours, or you could give yourself a vacation and work 0 hours. It's up to you.

In such a scenario, would you overall see yourself working more or less than what you're currently working? I was wondering how many people are dissatisfied with their current hours; are people more likely to want to work more and get paid more or work less and get paid less?

I would want to work more and in the morning so I had the rest of the day to myself. Though, if I had the ultimate choice, I would want to work the graveyard shift so I wouldn't have to do much work or at least not much work with people. Just relax and focus on a bunch of tasks without human contact. I would want to work about 50 hours a week if I could do that, less if I got paid more.

Work more. My employment contract has a maximum number of hours per week in it (basically so they don't have to pay me too much, since I get paid hourly).
