It was played down so much in the reviews, I assumed it was basically nothing.

But this game chugs like CRAZY basically everywhere, and especially in terrain transitions.

Game sure looks nice but the frame rate is just brutal.

Yeah, I'm skipping until it's cheap and has a performance patch.

It was jarring enough switching from Tropical Freeze to Red Dead 2 last weekend cause of how fucking silky smooth Tropical Freeze was.

I was thinking the same thing. The first dungeon had no drops at all, so that probably would've been the best choice

Wouldn't say original, it's like those really old CGI animation but rendered in Unreal Engine on a budget. So they look like plastic toys with the standard reflections from the engine.

I'm actually very glad I bought Mortal Kombat: Ronda Rousey Edition instead of Zelda then.
That's seriously disappointing. The game doesn't even look like it's that intensive. I would have been okay with some of the dungeons and overworld divided into sections with transitions. Like have all of the village be one, the forest be another, the beach be another, etc.

By original I mean it is not a reuse of already existing Zelda styles, not that they personally invented that art style. It's a new look for Zelda we haven't seen before.

It doesn't make it unplayable, but it is glaring. It does this weird thing where when you enter a new area of the overworld (i.e. the parts where there should be a screen transition like in the older ones) or come out of a building it's sputtering for a few seconds, then smooths out.

Yeah, I'm late to the party because I waited until I could find it for 40 on ebay.

If I'm willing to wait for Tropical Freeze waiting for Links Awakening Remake (If I'll even get it at all at this rate) won't be a problem.

The OG Switch actually ran a bit worse, if only just.

It's tolerable-ish for the most part, but trust me, when you get to Goponga Swamp, it goes full Powerpoint Slideshow Mode.

Yeah framerate drops constantly. There's no way you can't notice. Anyone who says they don't see any is lying.

$60 for a 8-10 hour game wasn't worth it IMO. looks like i made the right move to just wait. i just beat the original again like a month ago. knowing nintendo you'll never be able to find it for under $40.

I've been having good luck getting Nintendo games for 40-30 on ebay, just without the cases.

I'm watching a stream of it, and it's not like the framerate issues make the game unplayable, but they seem really annoyingly inconsistent and it's just baffling that this artstyle is so taxing on the Switch to me.

Yeah, it was pretty horrible at the beginning. Like it would damn near fully freeze.

I tried a few months ago and it's barely there now.

Which is why I'm hopeful for a patch for this. The framerate is really bugging me and I'm actually gonna hold off at least a bit to finish it.
