AlisLandale 09/19/19 10:04:16 AM #3:	The production for the end of the anime is the reason they were so weird. Deadlines and budget were both to blame. Mostly deadlines, apparently, as the scripts would be finished with almost no time left to animate. The movie doesnt retcon the anime ending, so much as expanding on it. Without spoilers, the anime ending could be seen as internal and the movie ending would be external. I can't remember anymore) getting over his daddy issues, which I thought of as the main issue he was dealing with. All decisions he made were because of his dad and at the end of that episode, he concludes with something along the lines of, "you know what, fuck dad, idgaf anymore".
