Correct, he expected his manic pixie dream girl to solve all his problems and when it's clear that's not the case she'll have realized he doesn't have much to offer and he'll realize he can't get what he wanted from the relationship.

Never read the comic, but I've seen multiple people say that Scott is just a super asshole. Like it always points out that the first girl he's dating is an underage high schooler.

I always think it's funny when all these media forms have the guy (or sometimes even the woman) go to absolutely ridiculous lengths to obtain the partner of their dreams. Then it's all "happily ever after.." when in reality they probably would have only lasted a few months lol.
