I don't really like the themed sets and want a normal chess set. But the problem is all the chessmen have different styles and when I find one set I like, I hate the Knight, or maybe the bishop. I wish you could mix sets or something and get each piece that you find appealing.

Also, I have no idea how the color swap of the headpieces became a thing. Like on the Dubrovnik set, the Bishops have their head piece colors swapped. Also, the Knight on that set looks stupid, its like they don't know how to carve eyes.

OP should launch his own chess set pieces company. =D

You probably could commission someone to make you a custom set. Shouldn't be too horribly expensive if you find the right person and depending on the size and how much detail you want.

When I was a young child I made my dad a custom (crappy child level) chess set from clay and bolts and we used it to play for years

Go find a custom maker if you can't find something that already exists to your liking
