During the call, Brian Hook, the administrations special representative for Iran, reportedly told Capitol Hill staffers that Saudi Arabiathe country that produced the vast majority of terrorists who attacked the United States on 9/11views said drone strike as their 9/11.

To be sure, the analogy didnt come from Trump himself, and it wasnt clear if Hook actually endorsed the comparison.
