Regarding Cali's news of banning private prisons the other day, which is a good decision. Why isn't the left also calling for the prison guard union to be dismantled? Cali would have gotten legalized marijuana much sooner if the union didn't fight hard against that.

And the prison guard union has the same incentives for profit and control that a private prison did, but the difference is that the union is much more powerful. Good luck getting rid of it now that it is so deeply embedded in the public sector.
