Long story short, I'm a teacher and my principal and the superintendent and I, and hopefully a couple of other teachers, are going to meet with this kid and his parents. They requested the superintendent be there, he never attends parent teacher conferences. Principal chewed my ass today because supposedly, I told the kid that he gets whatever grade he gets and haven't been helping him with his work.

-- It's more complicated than that. I work at an alternative school and have him in an elective class. His teacher sends me work for him, then I send it back. They always have computers to do work on or play games if there's nothing. All he wants to do is play games. What I told him is that grades come from his home campus teacher, not from me, and that if he fails, then that's between them. I also told him it's not really my subject area, so that I couldn't help him as much as his regular teacher and could only help with directions.

... just ready for tomorrow morning to be over.

So in America school you can't fail the students even though he really fail?

It's true. All the parents have to do is say, "Why's my kid failing?"

Then their zeroes become 100's or the teacher gets fired.

Well, was being a little sarcastic and was responding to the guy above me. But it's true, parents usually get their way. That's why education in America is a joke.

I think I'm going to go for a nice healthy run.... and then come back and have a beer... it's just been one of those days.
