I love how every new Yakuza game picks up a few more people.

Check out Yakuza 0, it's a perfect starting point to the series. The entire series will be available soon on PS4 (technically available now as you can purchase 3, 4, and 5 in a digital collection, but 4 and 5 aren't out just yet, you only get 3).

Yes, it's "Yakuza 7" in Japan. Personally I agree with the change since this game has nothing to do with Kiryu and continuing the numbers off of his games is weird IMO. They should have just called it Shin Ryu ga Gotoku like everyone's been referring to it for ages.

But yeah regardless of how smart the change is, we're probably going to run into some awkward titling from here on out.

It looks like this game is going to have a huge playable RPG cast

when was the last time we got a good recruitment RPG? Literally I think it was Suikoden DS. Is this game going to revive my favorite genre that's been dead for years??

In fact, the battle system is actually a figment of Ichiban's imagination. To bystanders on the street, people would be fighting like a traditional Yakuza title.

I kinda love this. This guy's imagining all these big epic battles, and to everybody else it's just people beating the crap out of each other.

The more they show, the more confident I am that this was the right move.

If it played too much like Yakuza 3-6, I would have been left wondering too many times, "Man I wish this was Kiryu, Majima or Akiyama"
