In Japan, women want to pursue careers but culturally it's looked down on for women to work as mothers. so they just don't have babies. basically japanese women have to pick either be a mom, or have a career

For Korea, it's expensive as FUCK having children. And a lot of 20-30 something year old Koreans are more focused on careers instead of starting families.

Oh boy if you think America likes consumerism check out Japan. It's just even sex and marriage has been fully transformed into an economic transaction here. If you can't afford a real significant other, there are plenty of services to rent whatever aspect of a relationship you want.
