Did any of you beat this? So far I can't even get to where it lets you save the game and I refuse to save state. Not having a sword for so long is rough.

I did a while ago. You should put yourself aside and savestate during the prologue. It's so rough otherwise.

If and when I'm ready to play video games again, I'll consider that but knowing me...I'll probably just do it over and over again without save states until I can manage it.

Without spoilers, is the rest of the game good? I tried LttP Master Quest but it sucked. Almost all they did was add spikes in places. Well and something weird and entirely unexplained in regards to getting the Book of Mudora.

It's pretty good for a fan game, but it trends to the stupid hard and you will hate yourself if you play it unassisted, and especially so without savestates. Definitely more obtuse than Master Quest.

Can I get a list of really awesome fan games?

If you want more romhack conversions like Parallel Worlds, I don't actually know of that many. Chrono Trigger's Flames of Eternity is pretty cool.

I've played some great Super Mario World ones.
