Guns still exist but all living creatures, human and animal all over the world are protected by magic from bullets. Swords, rocks, explosions - they all cause harm still just as normal. But everyone is superman when it comes to bullets.

Its like the Torchwood mini-series. Starts off in our reality but then the rules of physics are altered by magic overnight. And everybody is confused why they cant kill others anymore then all the NRA gun nuts get frustrated they cant even go hunting anymore.
