They say there will be new games, just not on a regular schedule. I'd be surprised if this meant more than 2-3 NES games and 6-8 SNES games through 2020, and no more beyond that.

Why would "Games will be released, just not on a set schedule" make you assume "We're only getting 6 games and that's it."

That's a pretty wild leap.

I mean, it is Nintendo. They couldnt even keep up with a promise of 3 NES games a month for more than 4 months

Still, that does seem like a low estimate

Its interesting to me that Capcom is already supporting SNES Online more than they ever did the NES Online.

All that ever got in a year from them was Ghosts n Goblins. SNES Online launched with 3 Capcom games.

Lack of major 3rd Party support was what hurt NES Online after the classic 1st party titles dried up.

Pixar sued to block the further production of Uniracers and won so that's never gonna happen.

And I'm just being realistic about the number of games going forward. Big third parties are choosing to sell their games themselves, and in many cases have been doing so for months. A lot of the rest of the SNES library is arcade ports that nobody cares about now and licensed games that would be a rights nightmare. Worthwhile games that Nintendo owns are pretty limited, and we already got most of the big names in the launch batch. The best we can hope for are low-tier third party games that wouldn't sell on their own, like Super Ghouls n Ghosts.
