Girl used to mean boy.

And at the time they called girls "Gay Girls"

Boy was originally a word to mean a subordinate who was often the young son of the person in question. IE "The Butcher's boy will bring it round to your home later."

And because of that somehow boy started to mean young male over time just from usage

It originated from a Gertrude Stein poem about a woman who leaves her husband for another woman and gradually gained momentum as a euphemism for homosexuality.

I know an old lady who's first name is "Gay." It was like naming your kid "Joy" back then. If you want a weird meaning shift, look no further than "little girl." In 1960s music it means your girlfriend, leading to some lyrics that sound pretty creepy in this day and age.

Thats not why 60s and 70s has super creepy songs. Ted nugent, kiss, the stones, and others had songs that openly sang about how hot girls between 14 and 16 were.

Everything we say is just a jumbled bunch of words with no real meaning but we understand eachother if we pronounced the words correctly in a certain pattern.

This

It could be both or either. Like all of the words mentioned in this topic.

Nah.... singing about hot 14 year olds and waiting to pick up 16 year old Christine from school is objectively more creepy than euphemistically using the term little girl imo.

Yep. People still call their romantic partners baby.

*could be both OR either, I was mostly referencing little girl. Obviously in the context of the artists later listed it was way more than come on baby lets do the twist.

So what you meant was yeah its definitely what I said.
