Deadline tomorrow. The retreat phase lasted a while before everyone posted moves so I felt like it made sense to do roughly 1.5 days as opposed to 0.5 days

Holy smokes! Italy broke our NAP and tried to surprise attack my lands like the Japanese in World War 2. I for one am glad that I never stopped so low as to break our pact and attack my friendly neighbor. I urge all European nations to denounce this travesty of an attack on the sovereign nation of Austria and help me in ridding the world of the Italian fascists that wish to take over the world.

What? Our nation is ruled by the most benevolent leader imaginable. The pope warned of the encroachment of the Muslims upon the European mainland and asked for us to help defend against the foreign invasion. It was our holy mission from God himself to turn back such aggression and eradicate the sinners and religiously lost from our lands and push to regaining the holy Land. We even mended the Schism with our Orthodox brethren in doing so for the glory of God.

However, it came with great pain to do so because while we tried to ignore religious differences and forge a path for all those under God and Allah together, it was revealed that the Muslim nation was unfortunately involved in a plot to try and undermine, destabilize, and eventually subjugate our glorious nation of Austria.

Thankfully, we were able to properly extinguish this threat before it became a national emergency which would have burdened our civilians and threatened their sovereignty.

I typically don't like elimination-style games, but Diplomacy intrigues me.

Sign me up for some Resistance game though. That is a game where everyone is in it until the end.

Both replacements have been far more engaged than their predecessors, but I can see how it might've spoiled the mood.

There is definitely a place for tactically/emotionally justifiable surrender in Diplomacy, though to me Scare's did not fall into this category. It was just "eh I'm not having fun" - which is fine - I'm just saying that's why I replaced him. It wasn't a "well I got betrayed and have no chance to win, I'll do anything to get revenge before I die". If it was that then I wouldn't have stepped in. And MI, of course directly asked to be replaced.

Glad people got a taste for it and most people somewhat enjoyed it. At the very least I will have people to nerd out with when I play more games in the future.

Sorry if I fucked it, I just thought we had decided we were done.

As GM I don't have the powers to affect anything.

If everyone except one player agrees to draw....that's effectively the same as no draw.

So. Basically. You can all "agree" nobody won, but, you're really just mutually agreeing to pretend Corrik didn't win when he literally did (assuming he's the only holdout)
