The Angry Video Game Nerd is a fictional character and half the games that he plays aren't really that bad. But Rambo is one review you can trust.

From the moment you begin the mission, you just wish you were running around shooting enemies. Instead, you're knifing bugs and assorted wildlife. When you finally do get to enemy soldiers, the game plays like Rush 'n Attack in slow motion.

They couldn't have been serious with this game. Rambo's in-game sprite looks ridiculous. And when you get a Game Over, it has an image of him making this "duuuuh" face. Also, he fights flamingos. Because that's what was missing from Rambo 2: hostile flamingos.

The piranhas are the best part of the game. Those little shits are so spiteful they will crawl on land to get you. I've never seen fish with such hatred in their hearts.

Woah, this game actually references the scene in which Co disguised herself as a prostitute. She even shakes her hips when she walks. It's not sexy or anything, her sprite looks like a Lego character, but I'm shocked as all hell that there's an NES game which references a scene in a movie where a character pretends to be a hooker.

Well, the AVGN did mention that, unlike most games, this game had a problem where it follows the movie TOO faithfully.

Well, except for the end where you shoot 'Anger' Chinese letters at someone to turn them into a frog >_>

Rambo getd beat up by bugs.

Ending is good though.

I think it has a neat structure, non linear and all. Just did not pull of off. One of the better movie tie in games though from the era.

The one on the Sega Master System was oddly really good. Plays like a twin stick shooter without the twin sticks.

He mentioned that you play as Co and that all you do is walk. He didn't say anything about the disguise.

RBnoWOj

That first option might still imply that her initial guise is a prostitute and that she's merely mistaken for the general's wife. It could be a typo, "I'm looking for someone." Or they might have meant it in an, "I'm looking to get some," kind of way. It's awkwardly worded.

If you choose the first option, he tells you to get out. If you tell him your the general's wife, he does what any good soldier would do and hands you the keys to the prisoner's cell without verifying your identity.

So, I beat the game... and encountered a glitch.

Instead of going to meet Trautman, exiting the screen with Murdoch led me back toward the flamingo area near the start of the game. I let myself get killed by poison bubbles (which took about five minutes) and it respawned me back at the cutscene where you get off of the helicopter at the end. This time, it let me go through the ending like normal.

Also, after you turn Murdoch into a frog, if you let him jump for long enough, he'll start hopping on objects in the background.
