Depends on location. In NYC..heck no. But out here in the rural Tennessee valley where I live it is more than enough.

Yeah thats probably more than enough. Unless maybe if you live in New York. I hear its pretty stupid expensive to live there.

I live in NY. At $27 and some change an hour Im able to live pretty comfortably. Just have to stay out of Manhattan and forget about a car. Manhattan is doable at $35 an hour but itll probably be a tiny apartment, probably not worth it.

You guys have bad perceptions of New York. I'll admit that the city itself is increasing, but it's prime Manhattan most of you think of when thinking of these insane prices.

That's even comfortable in Long Island.

If you're thinking of Upstate, that is upper class with that. The cost of living is very low up there. It's just that...

It's a barren wasteland lol.

That would be incredible. I live in Austin, which is a fairly expensive city, and I'd consider myself fairly wealthy with that kind of income.

5 dollars an hour is livable if you just spend to survive and cut out all luxuries like coffee and marijuana

I see you don't know what rent or mortgage is.

If you live in some small city and get roommates rent can be like 200 a month.

Have you ever questioned why rent would be so low in a small city?

Unless you get to live rent/mortage free absolutely not unless you work like...2 full time jobs with little to no transportation costs and live in a non expensive area.

Well I make $14.50 and hour and my wife makes between $10.50 and $12.50 depending on shift so yeah $35 would absolutely be livable.

Plus there is apparently a lot of incest in upstate New York I have heard. Though I don't really know how an area gets that reputation unless people are admitting to it, which I have no idea why anyone would be stupid enough to do so.
