Yeah I want to talk about literally anything else. Maybe I have a funny story or two about something someone said or did that takes 30 seconds.

Also OP I know how you feel. I tried hanging out with my friend a few times and it felt like shit. First my wife didn't like him because he was "too in love" with his fiancee (she wasn't even in the country, he was just talking about her). I was like "He... just sounded like a normal guy in love to me?" Then we went to see this really cool one-weekend-long exhibit in DC with them when she did get to the country, and my wife was making dumb passive aggressive comments from the very beginning and then she got pissed off about something and stormed off on her own after we saw the exhibit and said she wasn't going to eat lunch with them. And then they invited us over for New Year's Eve and she just played on her phone the whole time while we tried to have fun and play card games, and then at 11:30 she's like "I'm tired we have to go."

so

not the exact same, I guess at least you still potentially have friends you can hang out with. Apparently my friends are all assholes because they fall in love with people and make snacks and dinner for guests for new year's eve.
