Doesn't help that I'm pale and burn easily... but being around the diesel fumes, eating shitty fast food all the time, and the unpredictability of the schedule (start each day at 7am and sometimes don't get home until 11pm that night) wear thin quickly. It's changed over the years and whilst it's still a desk job, I spend most of my time talking to clients, working with my teams, being out in the market at industry events, etc... so the role is always interesting/challenging. Also helps that I've had decent career progression and salary increments over the years, and I'll probably stay there for life even though I've had some tempting offers from headhunters. ps.
