You earn 20k for every time the bulb is changed.

I'm afraid of heights, super clumsy, and generally unlucky so no. I would die. I wish I could though.

So $40,000 a year to change that twice a year?

No thanks. Even with all that free time, I'm terrified of heights. I'd fall to my death most likely.

I would do it but I would have to have a parachute on when doing that job.

Would not even consider it without my safety being most important.

lmao, I'll be so scared no matter how much I try to act like it would be no big deal. But I would do it. That's an extra $40,000 a year. That would help me afford a home and a wedding.

As soon as you pull the chord the parachute is just gonna explode into the tower and you're gonna either be stuck there or fall to your death.

I don't even want to change the bulb above me. So no...

Also suprised this isn't one of the ones where it's got the camera on his chest. Actually gives you a good perspective of how 'nah' it is. Not to mention climbing it you have a bag of tools swinging/hanging below you. I forget how much it weighs, around 20-30 pounds at least.

Found the one I was thinking about.

I wonder if the altitude is so high that the drone can't make it. And even if it could, are they capable of unscrewing a lightbulb and screwing a new one in? What if the wind blows?

They're doing 2 point tie offs the whole time they climb with osha approved 3 point contact rule. It's really not that dangerous unless you pass out. Those harnesses cut off circulation to your legs with a quickness unless you're awake and have the harnesses with the little fold out ropes to put your feet in and take tension off the straps under your ass cheeks. Lots of people lose their legs when they fall with a harness if someone doesn't get them down in time.

It's all about being physically capable of making that climb. That takes a lot of fucking endurance.

i like how we're smart enough to create this giant tower that probably does something really important

and the best solution to changing the light bulb is sending some poor guy to climb all the way up there and do it manually instead of having some other more creative system to do it
