Board 8 > I played What Remains of Edith Finch (spoilers)

One, that was depressing. Gregorys story hit the hardest, since Im old and everything.

Two, I still dont know why Edith needed to go to the house right then. I also dont get why she died, and what the deal was with her grandmother and the old house. Was that just a dangling plot line?

She was preggers and wanted her unborn child to know it's fsmily so now that she was the last Finch she wanted to investigate her fsmily history further for her child, or something

Essentially what I got from the ending

The grandmother held on to that home as the thing that held together her whole family tree and kept their memories alive.

The mother was the opposite, thought the family was cursed and that that home only held death and bad memories, so she basically took Edith and abandoned the grandmother, hoping to start new. The grandmother died the night after they left.

After Edith's mother died and Edith became pregnant, Edith decided to go back so she could journal the family's history for her child should something happen to her.

Then Edith died in childbirth.
