For all the memeing and shitposting and general fellating of the game aside, Final Fantasy VII is a good RPG. Not the best, not by any measure - but there's a reason it's so beloved, and it being a solid game is reason enough.

Wow this is great so far. Made it back to homebase.

Didnt think Id be enjoying it this much as Im not particularly a fan of turn-based, and I do love modern graphics lol.

Named Cloud after myself but I think Ill keep every other character as their default, on this first playthrough at least.

omg had a very hard time doing the simultaneous button press and figuring out which places were wich in the Don village.

Completed my outfit but misssed out on blonde wig.

omg dont play this game drunk, I spent like an hour running around wall market trying to remember which building was which and getting very frustrated lmao.

Also messed up the squats challenge really bad because of it, even though my practice round was practically flawless. >_>

Minor gameplay spoilers

The steal material is your friend. After you find it, Use a guide to get some good stuff earlier than normal.

When you get to a certain swamp area, take the time to learn a certain enemys skill. Its a Disc 1 nuke thats tons of fun to drop on bosses and trash mobs. Itll seem impossible at first but its actually relatively simple. Use a guide if you need to.

The atmosphere of midgar was absolutely amazing. I've never been more immersed in any are of any game. Unfortunately, you don't spend the entire game there. I didn't dislike it, but imo it doesn't live up to its hype and isn't my favorite in the series.
