Addendum: we like pain when we can control it. Uncontrollable pain is a nuisance at best and a fucking nightmare at worst.

It kind of makes sense though, right? We evolved in a harsh African wilderness where we had to avoid extremely dangerous animals. Maybe coasters and pain-driven things is how our biology makes us FEEL ALIVE AGAIN!!!!

Or maybe we're just weird, insane creatures.
