Some tech-minded people have some kind of complex where they feel like they always have to be right and also feel they have to prove their knowledge to others all the time.

One of the lessons I've learned early on is that no matter how knowledgeable you are, you're just gonna be wrong sometimes and you're gonna make mistakes... Sometimes major ones that cause you a lot of stress and headache...

Best way to handle it, imo, is to just own up to the shit, fix it, and move on.

I think whatever field is dominant will be filled with arrogant a-holes. When I was in college it was finance, then the mortgage meltdown happened

They usually had to eat booty their whole lives, so when they get a high salary job, they think they become "privileged"

This applies to low salary jobs, too. I remember one incident when I was doing ISP tech support. These were the pay rates for that job.

Trainee: $8/hour
Level 1 Tier 1: $9/hour
Level 1 Tier 2: $10/hour
Level 1 Tier 3: $11/hour
Level 2: $12/hour
Level3: $14/hour

I was a level 2 at the time... I took a break and went into the break room. As soon as I walked in, this guy who was a level 1 tier 3 said "I make more money than everyone in this room!"

Me: Uhh... No you don't, but whatever...

It wasn't like any of us were making a decent amount of money at that place.
